There is a separate process for raising and escalating a complaint or concern from within placement environments within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Social Care. For these students,  there is a professional duty to report, and our students are on professional programmes, so although they can make a complaint anonymously, there is a duty to consider the welfare and safety of service users and we require placements to be safe for all students, so transparency in reporting is recommended.  

Students are advised to discuss an issue with their tutor – Personal Academic Tutor or Academic Assessor –  this is usually the same person, or their Placement Lead. 

If they complete an Alert Report, this logs their complaint or concern.
